Algebra II, Semester 2 – Accelerate
The fundamental purpose of this course is to formalize and extend students’ geometric experiences from the middle grades. Students will begin the course by investigating theorems pertaining to lines, angles, and polygons both with and without a coordinate grid system.
Transformations will then be explored from a geometric and algebraic approach. The criteria and determination of congruence as well as similarity is also a major focus of this course. Students will also become familiar with circles and their properties. A brief investigation of 3D figures as well as geometric modeling is covered in this course. Students will also start work in trigonometry as it applies to both right and non-right triangles. The course concludes with an investigation into probability.
