In this course, students explore the theme Creating Community: Searching for Belonging by analyzing how authors use narrative structure and point of view to develop meaning. Learners will identify figurative language in a variety of texts and distinguish between topics and themes. They will also use textual evidence to support theme in an analytical essay. The course emphasizes vocabulary and grammar development to strengthen writing and communication. This is the first course in a two-part Seventh-Grade English series.
